Problem Solved
CCU’s digital footprint went well beyond a marketing website. Students interact with Brightspace course templates, a MindTap course integration, an Accommodations intake application and a counseling center site, each with its own accessibility risks.
CCU did not have the in-house expertise to test all of it against WCAG, and needed a partner who could work directly with its team on a recurring basis rather than deliver a single report and move on.
-
Solution
- Ran manual screen reader testing using JAWS 2026 on Windows 11 with Chrome, along with keyboard-only navigation, across the CCU public website, Brightspace course templates, the MindTap integration and the Accommodations intake application.
- Audited the Community Counseling Center site and other connected properties as part of the same engagement.
- Produced user journey demonstration videos so CCU’s team could see exactly how a screen reader user experiences a given page or workflow, not just read about the issue.
- Held biweekly check-in meetings with the CCU team throughout the engagement to review findings and adjust priorities.
- Provided hands-on document remediation, including an accessible version of CCU’s accessibility statement.
- Delivered validation testing on previously flagged issues to confirm fixes actually held up for assistive technology users.
That recurring shape — test, advise, validate, repeat — is our Managed Accessibility Ops service.

Results
- Completed manual screen reader and keyboard testing across CCU’s public website, Brightspace course templates, MindTap integration and Accommodations intake application.
- Delivered detailed accessibility operations reports on a recurring basis, giving CCU’s team a running record of what was tested, what was found and what was fixed.
- Validated remediation work on the Accommodations intake application and course template pages, confirming fixes held up under retesting.
- Kept CCU’s accessibility work moving through regular biweekly meetings rather than a single audit-and-disappear engagement.
- Extended coverage over time to additional properties, including the Community Counseling Center site, as new priorities came up.

Built Into How Courses Get Made
CCU’s approach treats accessibility as part of how course content gets built and maintained, not a box to check once. That has given the university’s team a steady, documented process for testing the platforms students actually use to learn.
