I can’t believe it’s been a year since WCAG 2.2 became the official recommendation. But just yesterday morning (12/12/24), I received an email from the W3C with details about WCAG 3.0 – It’s amazing how fast the W3C is moving!
WCAG 3.0 promises to shake things up by not only helping to make our online spaces more inclusive, but we expect an entirely new conformance system. Buckle up; it’s going to be an exciting ride!
Building on the foundation of WCAG 2.2, the upcoming guidelines aim to address the complexities of modern web technologies and better serve the diverse needs of people with disabilities.
Even though WCAG 3.0 is still a work in progress, it’s a big step to changing how we think about web accessibility.
